European Schoolnet and the Association of Petrochemicals Producers in Europe (Appe) are launching an ambitious new project to raise awareness of petrochemistry among young people across Europe. The project - Xperimania - proposes attractive inquiry-based science teaching and learning activities for upper primary and secondary schools.
Through the project, students will gain knowledge of petrochemical discoveries, processes and products. The campaign includes a competition for teams of young people around Europe, to set up an easy and fun experiment and upload lab reports on the website. Winning students will be invited to a ceremony taking place in the Benelux region during 2008, at a research laboratory of one of the Appe member companies.
