New faces at the EUN Office

Several new people have recently joined the EUN Office, either as full staff personnel or as part of our internship programme.

Stéphane Chaudron recently joined the Project Support Team of EUN as Project Administrator/Coordinator. Stéphane has worked for several Educational Projects for the last ten years. After a short experience as a Geography teacher and a gap year around the globe, she has been the Assistant of Coordination of a large European Thematic Network dedicated to Science Teachers Education in Europe. She worked as well for ‘Science Infuse’ (Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium) which aims to improve the image of Maths, Science and Technology careers among young people. More recently, Stéphane has worked for the Distance Learning Programme at Imperial College, London.

Caroline Kearney joined EUN on the 30th of June. She is British with Italian and Irish origins. Caroline holds a Masters in Comparative Education from the Institute of Education in London. She has had work experience in Paris and Prague, and previously did a traineeship at DG EAC, at the European Commission, before joining Eurydice in Brussels. At EUN she will be working as an analyst on studies and other knowledge-based activities.

Patricia Wastiau recently joined European Schoolnet as Special Adviser for Studies and Development. She is specialised in public policy analysis in education and knowledge-based policy-making. Previously, she worked for around 10 years at Eurydice, the information network on education in Europe, being Deputy Director and since 2001 Director of the Eurydice European unit. At Eurydice, she was coordinating the whole network of national units based in the ministries in charge of education, specialising in comparative analysis of education systems and policies. Patricia Wastiau has also extensive experience of leading and participating in European research projects and programmes (Socrates, OECD Local Employment Initiative) in education, research, employment and urban development throughout Europe. And last but not least, we have been told that during her leisure time she is passionate about architecture and music.

Bénédicte Clouet joined EUN for an internship in the Business Development Information and Communication Unit. She is involved in several projects including eSkills, Imagine Cup and Games in Schools. Additionally, she participated in the various corporate communication activities of EUN as well as the EUN Newsletter. Originally from France she holds a master’s degree in European Law from University Paris II-Assas, and is completing her master in International Relations at University Paris I-Sorbonne.

Patricia Munoz King, originally from Spain, recently joined EUN as an intern in project and proposal management. She holds a degrees in Law and Political Science from Madrid Autónoma University and previously worked as part of a university traineeship as law clerk at the Madrid Criminal Courts. She also worked at the for the Spanish consultancy law firm ARCA in Brussels.

Lucia Sali recently joined the EUN team as web editor intern for the Insight portal. She is not new to the Brussels' environment, where she completed a similar experience at the European Parliament website after a short stay in Riga at the European Commission Representation. She studied multimedia communication and journalism at the University of Turin (Italy) and built up her experience studying and working also in Rome, France and Belgium.

Khanh Nguyen Trong, from Vietnam has also joined European Schoolnet for an internship. Under supervision of Chief Technology Officer Jean Noel Colin, Khanh currently participate in the eSkills project, building a portal to be launched in October. A student at the Francophone Institute for Computer Science (IFI), where he holds a BA from the University of Polytechnics in Vietnam and a BA from the Claude Bernard University (Lyon 1, France)
