Author: EUN News
The final eTwinning management meeting for the 2007-2008 school year took place on 13 June 2008 in Montreuil, France, bringing together representatives from the Central Support Service (CSS), National Support Services (NSS), the European Commission and the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA). The topic of the meeting was an overview of the year’s achievements and a look into the coming year.
The meeting began with a detailed presentation by
Santi Scimeca of the current state of eTwinning, dealing with the main figures from the eTwinning Portal and the activities of its users. The presentation initiated an interesting and fruitful discussion about the way schools are using eTwinning in their everyday work and how the action should be promoted in the coming school year.
The meeting then focused on plans for the coming period in regards to monitoring activities, as presented by Patricia Wastiau, which will include a detailed technical analysis of the eTwinning Portal as well as questionnaires and case studies.
Anne Gilleran presented the calendar for the coming year, including Work Group meetings, Professional Development Workshops and the annual conference.
The afternoon focused on a number of issues including the 2009 European Year of Creativity and Innovation as presented by Eugenio Rivière from the European Commission, regional seminar outcomes, online content sharing, evaluation and prizes, and the upcoming eTwinning Weeks 2008 campaign.
From the EUN team, participants included Santi Scimeca, Patricia Wastiau, Anne Gilleran, Alexa Joyce, Sylvia Binger, Jean-Noel Colin and Christina Crawley.
The next management meeting will take place on 17 September 2008 in Brussels.
