On 29-31 May 2008, 90 secondary school teachers from 27 countries met in Chantilly, just outside Paris, for the last eTwinning Professional development workshop of the 2007/2008 school year. Such workshops aim to raise awareness of best use of the eTwinning portal and other ICT tools, to encourage the development of eTwinning project ideas and plans.
These representatives of European school collaboration were welcomed by Patrick Dion, Director general of the SCEREN-CNDP and Pierre Auboiron of the French National Support Service. Members of the Central Support Service also made presentations at the opening session; Anne Gilleran gave an overview of eTwinning while Christina Crawley presented the eTwinning portal.
Over the three days of their stay, the participants enjoyed a varied programme of practical workshops and interventions, such as podcasting, claymation and video story telling, as well as examples of eTwinning in practice from the projects Magazine Factory run by Lycée Jules Verne et Wellington School; Hall of mirrors - Biologie et écologie des îles Canaries and 24 Steps.
