Commission adopts white paper on communication strategy

On 1st February 2006 the European Commission adopted a White Paper on a European Communication Policy. The main aim of the much-awaited white paper is to brigde the gap between citizen and the EU, especially in the aftermath of the double rejection of the European constitution in France and the Netherlands last year.

The white paper is issued in the context of the European Commission Plan D for Democracy, Dialogue and Debate. It was presented in Brussels by Margot Wallstrom, Vice President of the European Commission and Commissioner for Institutional Relations and Communication Strategy.
