Web editor
European Schoolnet is recruiting a web editor for a six month contract, with a possibility of renewal at the end of the period.
TASKS
The web editor will be part of a number of projects organised by the European Schoolnet Office based in Brussels and will be responsible for the content of key projects in the areas of maths, science and technology and e-skills.
In particular the web editor will:
• Design (and in some cases adapt) the information structure of the website; • Identify appropriate information sources (industry partners, Commission, Ministries, pedagogical teams, etc.) to gather content; • Draft, edit and publish content on the relevant project websites and via email (e.g. press releases, newsletters); • Under the supervision of a project manager, plan and implement content on the project portals; • Liaise with the translation team to ensure content is translated in a timely manner; • Liaise with similar websites to ensure co-promotion of key content; • Supervise, where necessary, external graphic design contractors to develop web templates, graphic elements and logos; • Where relevant, draft use cases for specific web applications together with the technical team.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
• Experience (at least 1 year) of creating content for the web; • Knowledge and experience of publishing content via a Content Management system are essential; • Excellent ability to speak and write English. Knowledge of other languages is welcome; • Basic knowledge and experience of graphic design tools (Photoshop) will be considered an advantage; • Knowledge or experience of technology, European education systems, science education and/or European dissemination issues is an asset; • Proven team player with a flexible approach.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The selected candidate will be employed under Belgian law with a temporary contract for a period of six months. Further opportunities may be available after, but are not guaranteed (subject to EU funding). Salary level will be commensurate to experience and local market rates.
