Project coordinator and Web editor: Petru Dumitru

Petru worked as a school teacher in Romania for about 20 years. He was also involved in teacher training education, mainly in the field of ICT and its pedagogy. Before joining the European Schoolnet Office as a Coordinator for Central and Eastern Europe, in 2000, he coordinated several i*EARN international Web-based projects. He published two books about integrating ICT into the curriculum, as well as a number of related articles covering the same topic.

At the EUN Office, Petru Dumitru coordinates the myEUROPE project and the 50 Years Together in Diversity project. He is also responsible for the content of two websites: Spring Day for Europe and Energy is our Future. For the past eight school years he has been coordinating a number of repositories that harvest teaching and learning resources focusing on European citizenship and intercultural education.

 

He holds a MA degree in technical communication from Sheffield University, in the UK. He carried out a two-year research project on the benefits and limitations of intercultural computer-mediated communication in international collaborative school projects. Recently he has been certified in the field of project management.
