Sci Tech Girls Day

The Sci Tech Girls Day consists in a succession of exchanges between young girl students and female leading scientists, experts and role models. This event aims to support and encourage young women to pursue scientific studies by denouncing cultural and sociological barrier, and demonstrating the quality of scientific careers through scientific and engineering studies.

Organised by the Women’s Forum, with the support of European Schoolnet, this project also involves L'Oréal Fondation d'Entreprise, Orange, Cisco, Ecole Normale Supérieure, Suez, Thales, Total and the city of Deauville.

Through the Sci-tech Girls Day, girl students had the chance to meet women, renowned for their remarkable training and career paths in the fields of science and technology. It was a unique opportunity to share their views on the place of women in science, and to discover what opportunities may exist for them in this area.

This project intends to inspire girls at an important time in their lives, just as they begin to think seriously about identity, higher education and career opportunities. It offers them role models and empowers them to see options where before they may have seen limitations.
